Caramoan Peninsula is touted as the Philippine’s secret paradise since it is virtually hidden from the rest of the province of Camarines Sur. The Philippine geographic landscape consisting of a bevy of 7,107 Islands from Luzon to Mindanao has been a great contributor to the country’s tourism growth and the one Island that stands out currently in terms of international exposure is Caramoan island.This island caught media attention twice in 2008 with the filming of the French reality hit show Survivor and Survivor Bulgaria followed by Survivor Israel in 2009.Caramoan has a very rich marine life to cater to the ocean adventurers plus its got the limestone cliffs and caves for climbing and exploring.

This Island boasts of lush and thick vegetation. Caramoan Island is one of the thirty-five municipalities of the Province of Camarines Sur,Bicol and is situated at the heart of the Caramoan Peninsula at the southernmost tip of Luzon.

Thanks to surfing,Rizal Beach is starting to make a name.Turbulent waters in the San Bernardino Strait produces consistent waves year round with the major swell season starting in October to March.Location:Gubat,Sorsogon,Phils.

Oman completes the Top Ten list by placing 10th. Oman boasts of many age-old forts like Al Nakhal Fort which we just visited recently. It is adjacent to the most frequented Thowara Hot Springs located at Rustaq.
Condé Nast’s Laura Fowler wrote in her article that “the Philippines may still not be the most obvious beach destination but it soon will be.” The writer also compared the country’s more than 7,000 islands to the islands of Maldives: “Sorry, Maldives… We love you, but we’ve got a new flame.”
Must-see places according to the article are Bicol, where travelers can swim with the huge but gentle whale sharks in Donsol,Sorsogon and go surfing in Rizal Beach(pictured) or enjoy the pristine waters of Caramoan Island (pictured); Siargao in Surigao del Norte (Mindanao), a stunning little known island perfect for deep-sea fishing; Palawan, “palm-fringed white-powder beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, natural lagoons for wild swimming all of it protected by UNESCO.

I have been eyeing to spend a vacation in Caramoan since I’m also a Bicolano but in a twist of fate still it didn’t materialize..Hope soon..Nice blog buddy..
